Core – Processes

This is all about the essential activities of the company, leading to products and/or services to the Customers.

The four generic Process domains are:

  • Product development: Starts with Market Requirements analysis and Portfolio Management; after Sourcing decisions, there is the Product Development up to the Commercial Launch.
  • Order generation: starts with Marketing, goes over Demand Management into Sales and Customer Relationship Management.
  • Order Fulfilment: after Order entry, there is Planning, leading to Purchasing and Production; finally, there is Distribution, Invoicing and Collection.
  • After-Sales Service: Essential is the Customer Contact and Installed Base Management, Spare Parts-, Field Service- and Repair Management.

Management Processes

These processes are the collection of all Process domains under the responsibility of the top of a company. Typically, there are:

  • Strategic Management and performance management.
  • Process, Quality and Risk Management.
  • Project Management.
  • Corporate Governance.

Each of these process domains can be further split into specific processes

Supporting Processes

These processes are not adding direct added value to the products and services of the company, BUT are nevertheless essential to make run the Core processes. Some of the Process domains are:
