General The Goal

General The Goal

General The Goal is the latest project of Sylvain Demolder. Sylvain started his career in 1978. After a short academic career, he moved to the Industry and gained a lot of experience throughout the years. After a partnership of 16 years with Möbius Consulting, recently Sylvain decided to start his own company in Interim Management and consultancy and so, General The Goal was born.

The Goal?

“The Goal” refers to 3 keywords: vision, mission and strategy. This is the starting base General The Goal wants to work on with his clients to help them deploy and implement their strategy.

But there is more. The Goal also refers to the management-oriented book that was written by Eliyahu M. Goldratt in 1986. This book describes in common sense the basic concepts of OPT (Optimised Production Technology). A technology that is not only applicable in a manufacturing environment, but also in the financial, medical and even in our family environment. The theories from this book are still very relevant today and applicable in an Enterprise Excellence implementation project (cfr the concepts of the Shingo Institute).

General?

General refers to two main approaches. First, General The Goal is focusing on the overall corporate and competitive strategy and all its related business processes. Second, the focus is on the customer service and customer experience. This means that General The Goal will never optimise parts of a business process or parts of an organisation without looking at the full-organisation picture.

General The Goal?

Last but not least, there is the reference to the French President from 1958 till 1969. His leadership was very famous and, based on his clear vision and a straightforward implementation, he reached successful results.

When pursuing Enterprise Excellence, leadership is an essential factor. General The Goal aims to implement the Shingo Institute model in a pragmatic way with “Common sense”.
